|National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation
||The NICEIC is the electrical contracting industry’s
independent, not-for-profit regulatory body covering the whole of the
UK. The NICEIC’s objective is to protect consumers against unsafe
workmanship by raising technical standards
within the industry.
Why use an NICEIC approved contractor?
- Work is carried out to the national
safety standard BS 7671
- Customers get an electrical installation
certificate confirming that the work meets the national safety standard
- Approved contractors are periodically
- Work is covered by a Guarantee of Standards
scheme and complaints resolution service
Only competent contractors should be employed to carry
out electrical work in homes, offices, shops and factories. The NICEIC
maintains a Roll
of Approved Contractors capable of safe, good quality work. By selecting
contractors from the NICEIC's Roll, specifiers know that the required
safety standards underwritten by the NICEIC will be met.

Each notified installation is covered by the NICEIC insurance warrenty scheme.
Elec Test is an approved contractor & domestic installer and is a member of the Trustmark scheme which offers enhanced consumer protection.
The 'consumer arm' of the NICEIC is called the Electrical Safety Council . This has been set up to provide advice to the general public on electrical safety matters.
